Our Charter was formed on 9/27/1950 in Washington DC and later moved to Pittsburgh, PA, thus the reason behind the name Potomac Air Lodge 1976. Potomac Air Lodge 1976 is very unique in the sense that we only represent maintenance and related members that are covered under our agreement. Most union locals are amalgamated which means they represent other trades and members from other employers. Potomac Air Lodge 1976 main function is to administer the contract and serve the membership here in Pittsburgh to insure a safe and secure work environment. Union meetings were held in various locations throughout the years, such as the V.F.W. in Coraopolis, the ELKS Club and a shopping plaza in Moon Township. The property, purchased on January 16, 1997, was once occupied by a Uni-Mart convenience store. On April 7, 1999, the first meeting was held in the new hall. The official dedication of Local Lodge 1976 was held on Saturday, May 22, 1999 with an open house.
